Celebrating the 1st Day of Kwanzaa – Umoja

Happy Kwanzaa everyone.

Today is the 26th of Decemeber 2011 and the first day of Kwanzaa. I did not write a post related to Kwanazaa last year but I did back in 2009 however it was more of an overview. This year I wanted to educate and share the principles of Kwanzaa with you a little differently. My idea was to support those who needed supporting but may not know how to get it. So over the course of Kwanzaa which is over 7 days I will be finding YouTube videos that either talk about Kwanzaa or interpret the principles in their own way. You may be thinking how’s that different?, well I will only be using the videos with the lowest number of views. If I come up against a few with 0 views for a particular day then i will either use all if ther are less than 3 or I’ll chose the one that I really like.

The first day of Kwanazaa is principle Umoja meaning Unity:

To strive for and to maintain unity in the family, community, nation, and race.
