Front: Henry Thomas Sampson invented the cellular phone in july 6th, 1971
Inside: Born 1934 in Jackson, Mississippi. He is a brilliant and accomplished nuclear physicist who invented a Gamma-Electrical Cell. Henry Sampson's patent (US 3,591,860) can be viewed in its entirety online at the United States Patent and Trademark Office. He received a bachelor of Science degree, from University in 1956. As an interesting sidenote, Henry Sampson is also a writer and film historian who wrote a book entitled, "Blacks in Black and White: A SourceBook on Black Films."
